Missionary Training Center Provo, Utah

Elder and Sister Shorter left Lynchburg, Virginia on February 1, 2014 and arrived at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, Utah that evening.

The snowy pictures are of us on our way to class one morning.  We wanted to get the snow and mountains in. It has snowed just a little bit this week.  Today (Saturday) it rained.  The natives say that it has been too dry in Utah.  They need more precipitation.

This is our district  for all of our training.  Left to right:  the Henrys, going to Angola, Africa; the Bryners, going to serve within their stake in Salt Lake City; the Christensens, going to serve in Richmond, Virginia; and of course us.  We formed quite a bond with the Bryners.  This is their second mission.  They previously served as mission president in Mongolia.  We tried to help the Christensens know a little bit about Virginia.  Their first assignment is in Orange, Virginia.

On Friday evening we were able to go out to dinner with friends who lived in Lynchburg many years ago.  The couple in the back are Tony and Lenita Gilreath.  The couple in front are Blake and Michelle Rigby.

  1. We have some friends living in Utah that said their stake has been fasting and praying for precipitation. And it happened while Ma & Pa were there!!!
